ROGER WATERS details new album “Is This the Life We Really Want?”

Roger Waters ha aggiunto nuovi dettagli al suo prossimo nuovo album, Is This the Life We Really Want? Il disco, prodotto dal collaboratore dei Radiohead Nigel Godrich, verrà pubblicato il 2 giugno dalla Columbia Records. Guarda copertina, tracklist e teaser qui sotto. L’ultimo album solista di Waters è stato Amused to Death, uscito nel 1992. Un comunicato stampa descrive l’album come “un commento deciso e risoluto su quello che accade in questi tempi incerti al giorno d’oggi.” Godrich non solo produce l’album ma ha contribuito agli arrangiamenti e suonato chitarra e tastiere,  insieme al batterista Joey Waronker (suo compagno negli Atoms for Peace), Jonathan Wilson alla chitarra, Gus Seyffert ad alternarsi tra basso e chitarra, Roger Manning e Lee Pardini alle tastiere, e altri musicisti. Intanto il 26 maggio prenderà il via da Kansas City la sua tournée americana, che si concluderà il 28 ottobre a Vancouver dopo quaranta concerti. Il tour si chiamerà Us + Them (riferimento esplicito alla traccia dell’iconico album dei Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon) in cui Waters proporrà un mix di cose tratte dalla sua carriera. Ci saranno cose pescate dai quattro album dei Pink Floyd The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals e The Wall ma anche cose nuove. Il 75 per cento del materiale sarà relativo al passato, mentre il resto sarà inedito.
